Conical structures are probably the most common structures, they are used to cover large areas efficiently and have a tent like look. The large cone structures can have a single mast or multiple masts which can also have different heights making for unique designs. 

The small cone design is commonly used in umbrellas , these umbrellas can vary in design such as standard , cantilevered , double cantilevered and different mast angles. The cone design can have fixed edge membrane fixing as well as cable catenary edges. The larger cone structures can also have a” flying mast” which is held up by cables , this means that the mast does not go to ground and then offers a open floor area. The umbrella style cones can have square, rectangular , hexagonal and many more shapes , it is almost un limited.

Conical tension structures have widely been installed at covering play areas at restaurants , large areas at trampoline parks and normal restaurant dinning areas. The cone umbrella has been very popular at outside seating areas at restaurants and resorts next to the poolside areas. The umbrellas can also be made with a fixed edge to create a Gazebo structure and then  screens or fixed glass panels can be installed to create a closed structure.

Cones are also widely used in the tented camp application where different colours of membrane can be used to blend into the environment.
